Times Square Church is located in the heart of Manhattan's theater district. Founded by Reverend David Wilkerson in 1987, Times Square Church first met in rented theatres and auditoriums until it found its home at the historic Hellinger Theatre, purchased in 1989 from the Nederlander Organization. The theater was originally built by Warner Brothers in 1930 as the cinema palace "The Hollywood Theatre". During the 1940s it operated under the names Warner Theatre and 51st Street Theatre and all but ceased showing films in favor of stage shows. In 1949, the screen was removed from behind the stage and the building was renamed for the Broadway critic Mark Hellinger.
Artec provided Design and Planning services in Specialized Performance Equipment Systems (sound & communication systems only) design for the facility; including front-of-house and stage monitor systems, sound systems for overflow auditoriums, and production management for all of the Church's live sound events. Today, the space is able to accommodate 2000 worshipers on the main floor and a single balcony.
