The Concert Hall of the North Jutland House of
Music complex in Aalborg, Denmark will be the largest of the five
auditoria within this performance, rehearsal, and educational facility.
Construction began, on the 16,000 m2 facility,
in Fall 2005, with an anticipated opening in 2012. It will
be the largest facility of its type in the North Jutland region
of Denmark and will become the home of
Aalborg Symphony Orchestra, Academy
of Music, Aalborg Department of Music and Music Therapy (Aalborg
University) and Department of Architecture and Design (Aalborg
University).
The 1250-seat Concert Hall, with seating on three
levels, will welcome a wide range of musical performance types.
In order to accommodate this variety, variable features have been
integrated into the design, including a vertically adjustable acoustic
ceiling, an automatically movable stage extension, and motorized
drapery systems to change the texture of wall surfaces in the hall.
