Gwinnett
Civic & Cultural Centre, located on a beautiful, partially
wooded 60-acre site, opened its doors to the public in 1992.
The 700-seat Concert Theatre within the Centre
is designed to accommodate a broad range of performance types, including
drama, dance, musical theatre, symphony and choral works, and audio/visual
presentations. A convenient footbridge linking the Concert Theatre
to the 139,000 square foot exhibition and conference facility makes
it an ideal location for trade shows, product launches, and corporate
meetings. This arrangement also permits easy circulation for the
handicapped to backstage and all public areas. The Center was designed
with day-to-day efficiency and economy of operations in mind. To
this end, all dressing rooms and support spaces are on stage level;
the administrative and operations offices are conveniently located
in their relevant zones of the facility.
The theatre has a fully functional stagehouse,
including manually operated counterweight linesets (1500-pound capacity
each). A forestage lift can serve as either an orchestra pit platform,
main level seating for 58, a stage-level extension, or as an equipment
lift between the stage and pit levels. A well-appointed production
lighting system is capable of handling most lighting designs used
for a room of this size. The sound and communication system supports
all theatrical and conferencing tasks with great flexibility and
ease of operation.
