Stockey Centre Praise to the Editor / North Star, Parry Sound I was fortunate to have the opportunity to attend the concert presented by the Parry Sound Area Chamber of Commerce at the Charles W. Stockey Centre for the Performing Arts on June 18. As I had always supported this project as one vital to the enrichment and growth of our community, it was with great anticipation that I entered the centre. I was not at all disappointed. The Performing Arts Centre is fabulous! The post and beam type construction, the granite walls, the roomy and comfortable seating create an atmosphere of luxury and relaxation, the perfect place to enjoy your favourite performers. Not to mention the acoustics, which are marvellous! What a pleasure to enjoy the brief performance by the Parry Sound Singers as well as local pianist Craig Harley in such a extraordinary facility. For you skeptics, visit the Stockey Centre and I am sure your opinion will be swayed. To those of you who worked so hard over the past few years with a vision of the opening of this centre, congratulations on a job well done.
